Adding/Updating Cards


You can do the following to add or update a credit card on your account:

  1. Log into your Silhouette Account and select the 'Address & Payment Info' tab
  2. Click on 'Add New' under the 'Payment Information' section

Pre-authorization Charge


A pre-authorization charge of $1.00 may be assessed whenever a new credit card is added or updated. This does not indicate any actual charge was made to your card. This is only a pre-authorization that is held temporarily. It is performed to help confirm credit cards and protect against fraudulent activity. 


Credit Card Processing Issues


Aside from verifying all information, please check the following points that can cause credit card processing to fail:

  • Ensure all fields are completely filled out
  • Ensure that the expiration date is correct 
  • Ensure that the security code field for your card is correct
  • Ensure you have both a first name and last name present. If you only have a first initial on your card, ensure there is a space between the first initial and the last name.
  • Avoid using non-English characters (those with accent marks of any kind) as they may cause problems with processing your card information.

Default Credit Card Selection


You can select to make any card on your account your default card by checking the box labeled "Make this my default credit card".


Missed Payments Handling


If you have any missing payments (i.e. from previous subscription payments), they will be automatically charged once the new or updated card is successfully saved.


Deleting Cards


You can remove a credit card from your account by doing the following:

  1. Log into your Silhouette Account and select the 'Address & Payment Info' tab
  2. Select the "Delete" option under the Payment Information section for the card in question

NOTE: This will delete your card from your Silhouette account, which includes both www.silhouetteamerica.com and ww.silhouettedesignstore.com


Updating Card for Membership or Subscription

You will not be able to delete a card if it is being used for a subscription or Club Silhouette membership monthly payment. 

As needed, you can update your membership with a new card prior to removing your old card from the account.

To update your Silhouette Design Store subscription:

  1. Add a new credit card on your account, as directed above
  2. Go to the section to manage your Design Store subscription
  3. Click on the credit card drop-down and select the desired credit card

To update your Club Silhouette subscription:

  1. Add a new credit card on your account, as directed above
  2. Go to the section to manage your Club Silhouette subscription
  3. Click on the credit card drop-down and select the desired credit card
