Below is a reference chart for machine serial number formats:



How to Read Serial Numbers


The first letter indicates the manufacturing location:

  • A: China
  • T: China
  • K: Vietnam
  • R: Vietnam 
  • V: Vietnam


The first 3 numbers indicate the Year (first digit) and Month of manufacture (next two digits).


The middle number indicates the machine model. For cutting machines:

  • -: Portrait 1
  • A: Cameo 1
  • A: Alta
  • B: Cameo 2
  • B/C: Alta Plus
  • C: Curio 1
  • D: Cameo 3
  • E: Portrait 2
  • F: Cameo 4
  • G: Cameo 4 Plus
  • H: Cameo 4 Pro
  • J: Portrait 3
  • K: Curio 2
  • L: ASF (A4/Letter)
  • M: ASF (A3)
  • N: Portrait 4
  • P: Cameo 5
  • Q: Cameo 5 Plus
  • R: Electrostatic Mat 12
  • S: Electrostatic Mat 8.5


EXAMPLE: T711D means Cameo 3, manufactured in November 2017, in China.


The last numbers are the unique machine number for this series. 


Finding the Serial Number


Cutting machine (Cameo, Portrait, or Curio) - found on the back of the machine on the left-hand side

3D printer (Alta or Alta Plus) - found on the bottom of the machine (underside of the base)


Stamp printer (Mint) - found on the bottom of the machine (underside of the base)


Auto Sheet Feeder (A3 Plus version) - found on the bottom of the machine (underside of the base)Auto Sheet Feeder (A4 version) - found on the bottom of the machine (underside of the base)
