Nothing Illuminates when attempting to power on

Check the Power Button

If the machine is not powering on, sometimes the power button has simply not been pressed firmly or long enough.

Note: Newer models, require a long press of the power button (approximately 3 seconds) for activation. This ensure deliberate on/off and allows for a quick tap as an emergency stop.

Check the Cord Connections

To ensure that power is able to flow from the power source to the machine please check the following

  1. Remove power cord from machine and plug firmly into machine
  2. In the middle of the power cord there is a brick shaped piece of plastic remove the part of the cord that plugs in and firmly re-insert it
  3. Unplug the cord from the wall or power strip and firmly plug back in
  4. If using a power strip ensure that it is powered

Check the Power Source

  1. Unplug the power cord from the wall or power strip
  2. Plug into another outlet that is currently working for another powered object

Check the Power Cord

  1. If possible test a power cord from another Silhouette machine
  2. If you do not have another Silhouette machine you can use a cord with the following specifications:
    • AC Adapter
    • Input: 100-240V~ 50/60Hz, 1.2A
    • Output: +24V - 1.25A(up to 2.0A
    • Output polarity: Positive center
Note: We do not recommend buying another cord to perform this test if you do not already have access to one.
If you determine the power cord to be the issue you can buy a replacement cord here

Run Power Test

After reviewing all of the above, attempt the following:

  1. Unplug the power cord from the side of the cutting machine
  2. Press and hold the power button
  3. While holding down the power button, plug the power cord back into the machine and continue to hold the power button for 10 seconds
  4. Release the power button

If the light on the machine does not illuminate, then this indicates a power failure. Please contact support@silhouetteamerica.com with the following information:

  • Confirmation of the power test from Step 5 above
  • Provide a video showing confirmation that all connections are made while the machine is not powered on

If the light on the machine does illuminate but you are unable to use the machine please see the below section
