Rubber Ring on Roller Bar Broken

If the rubber ring on your Cameo 1 roller bar has broken, unfortunately, it cannot be replaced.

Since the bar where this rubber piece is fastened around cannot be removed, a new rubber ring cannot be placed back on. This part is intended to help ensure materials are held in place properly during the cutting process. The rubber piece backs up the white rollers that hold the sides of your mat or other material. It is not entirely necessary for proper operation. It simply attempts to hold down the material more firmly during the cutting process to prevent potential issues with the material slipping.

You can continue to safely use your Cameo 1 model.

Machine Stops When Lid is Open

There is a teardrop-shaped plastic component on the Cameo 1 model located on the left-hand side of the machine once the lid has been lifted. This is a sensor for the Child Safety feature.

To access the  Child Safety feature on the Cameo 1:

  1. Load your mat
  2. Press the LEFT and ENTER buttons at the same time on the machine
NOTE: This will bring you to an options sub-menu
  3. Locate the Child Safety menu
  4. If you select to 'Enable', the Cameo will immediately stop any time the lid is lifted during operation. If you select 'Disable', then the Cameo will continue to operate even while the lid is open.

Pinch Roller Stuck in Center Groove

The rubber pieces on the Cameo 1 and 2 model roller bar are not intended to be moved out of place.

If the rubber rings were moved and the right-hand pinch roller is adjusted too far to the left, it can get stuck in this groove.

"RMS Error" with SD Card

An RMS Error displayed on the Cameo 1 LCD screen indicates that the job you are attempting to cut is a Print & Cut job.

While the Cameo has the ability to perform Print & Cut jobs, this feature can only be used when the Cameo is connected to a computer, and you are printing and then cutting directly from the Silhouette Studio software.

The RMS Error message indicates that the file was saved while the Registration Marks were enabled. This error will show up even if the image is not actually a Print & Cut design, so long as Registration Marks were enabled at the time the file was saved.

Error Resolution

To fix this:

  1. Delete the files encountering this error from the SD card
  2. Re-save the file in Silhouette Studio with Registration Marks turned OFF
  3. Save the file to GSP on your SD card

Lock Knob not holding blade Properly

If your blade is not being held in place properly after you have locked the blade in place using the lock knob, this may indicate that the lock knob is upside-down.

Adjusting the Lock Knob

To fix this:

  1. Remove the blue knob by pinching it and pulling it forward (toward yourself

  2. Once the lock lever has been removed, put the lever knob back onto the machine in the proper orientation
NOTE: When oriented properly, the knob should be going in a diagonal line from the top-left of the machine to the bottom-right of the machine. The word "Open" should be on the left/bottom side of the lever.

  3. As you push the knob in, the black piece where the lock knob is placed onto will click into place.
NOTE: This black peice should protrude through the center hole of the blue lock lever
