Your Silhouette account library allows the following access:


Actively Connected Devices: up to 3

Total Devices: up to 10


Each time you log into your Silhouette library on a different computer, that device is logged to your Silhouette account. You can have up to 10 computers where you can sign into your Silhouette account. Of these 10 devices, you can actively connect to the library at the same time on up to 3 different devices. The term 'Device' includes computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.


An error message that you have too many devices ('Maximum number of active devices', 'User Maxed', 'Error 550', or 'Error 551') indicates you've exceeded the number of total devices for your account.

Resolving the Error


To resolve this error, you will need to deactivate unused/unwanted devices from your Silhouette account as follows:


  1. Go to your Silhouette account management page and sign in if prompted
  2. Scroll down to the 'Cloud Management' section
  3. Select Deactivate next to any device that is no longer in use
  4. Click 'Update' at the bottom of the page
  5. Enter your account password to confirm the intended action


If you still encounter an error message indicating you've reached your maximum total devices for your Silhouette account, please contact support@silhouetteamerica.com to confirm that you have deactivated devices you would like removed from your account.
