Information on managing credit cards on your Silhouette account (www.silhouetteamerica.com and www.silhouettedesignstore.com) is found below. 


Adding/Updating Cards


You can add or update a credit card on your account as follows:

  1. Log into your Silhouette Account 
  2. Select the 'Address & Payment Info' tab
  3. Click on 'Add New' under the Payment Information section

Pre-authorization Charge


A pre-authorization of $1.00 is assessed whenever a new credit card is added or updated. This does not indicate any actual charge was made to your card. This is only a pre-authorization that is held temporarily. It is performed to help confirm the validity of the credit card.


Credit Card Processing Issues


Aside from verifying all information, please check the following points that can cause credit card processing to fail:

  • Ensure all fields are completely filled out
  • Ensure that the expiration date is correct 
  • Ensure that the security code field for your card is correct
  • Ensure you have both a first name and last name present. If you only have a first initial on your card, ensure there is a space between the first initial and the last name.
  • Avoid using non-English characters (those with accent marks of any kind) as they may cause problems with processing your card information.
  • Revert to the original address for this card (if it was previously added and then updated)

Default Credit Card


You can select to make any card on your account your default card by checking the box labeled "Make this my default credit card".


Missed Payments Handling


If you have any missing payments (i.e. from previous subscription payments), they will be automatically charged once the new or updated card is successfully saved.


Deleting Cards


You can remove a credit card from your account by doing the following:

  1. Sign into your Silhouette Account
  2. Go to the 'Address & Payment Info' tab on your account
  3. Select the "Delete" option under the Payment Information section for the card in question

Updating Cards for Memberships & Subscriptions


You are not able to delete cards assigned to Silhouette Design Store subscriptions or Club Silhouette membership monthly payments. You can, however, update the credit card assignment for subscriptions or Club payments as follows.


To update the card associated with your Silhouette Design Store subscription:

  1. Add a new credit card to your account, as directed above
  2. Go to the Credits & Subscriptions section on your account
  3. Click on the credit card drop-down and select the desired credit card

To update the card associated with your Club Silhouette membership:

  1. Add a new credit card to your account, as directed above
  2. Go to the Club Silhouette management section
  3. Click on the credit card drop-down and select the desired credit card
