Registering your machine
You can register the serial number of the machine you purchased with your Silhouette account, by clicking here.
This provides the following benefits:
- 1 Year Manufacturer's Warranty
- 1-month free trial of Silhouette Design Store for Silhouette Library (worth $25)
Locating the Serial Number
Cutting machine (Cameo, Portrait, or Curio) - found on the back of the machine on the left-hand side
3D printer (Alta or Alta Plus) - found on the bottom of the machine (underside of the base)
Stamp printer (Mint) - found on the bottom of the machine (underside of the base)
Auto Sheet Feeder (A3 Plus version) - found on the bottom of the machine (underside of the base)Auto Sheet Feeder (A4 version) - found on the bottom of the machine (underside of the base)
Silhouette Machine Transfer
If you want to transfer ownership of your Silhouette machine to another individual, no special procedures are required.
The new owner can do the following without migrating the machine's product registration:
- Set up a new Silhouette account with your name and email address.
- Purchase and download digital content in the Silhouette Design Store Download and
- use the Silhouette Studio software program to operate the Silhouette machine.

1 Year Free Warranty
Silhouette machines have a one-year limited warranty.
This warranty does not extend to consumable products included with the machine, such as the blade and cutting mat.
US & Canada
If purchased in the US, Canada, or other US territories (Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands), the warranty is covered by Silhouette America directly.

All Other Countries
If purchased outside of the above-listed areas, you will need to contact the store or website where your machine was purchased for warranty coverage information.
Warranty When Transferring Ownership
If you transfer ownership of your machine there is no need to transfer the warranty registration, the registration will remain in effect until the one year period is up as given to the original owner.
- Transferring a machine does not reset the warranty period. The warranty period is one year from the date of purchase by the original owner.
- You won't be able to access content purchased on the original owner's account.
- Software upgraded with the original owner's account (Designer Edition, Designer Plus Edition, Business Edition)) cannot be used.
- Silhouette accounts cannot be shared or transferred.
