NOTE: Purchase of the Silhouette Connect plug-in does not include Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW software.

Activating License Key

To activate your Silhouette Connect license key:

1. Download and install the Silhouette Connect
2. Open Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW
3. Go to File > Silhouette Connect > Send to Silhouette Connect
4. Set up and go to send your job
5. Enter your license key and Silhouette account information once prompted

Deactivating License Key

To remove a Silhouette Connect license key from your computer:

1. Open Silhouette Connect
   • Mac: Open from the Applications menu
   • Windows/PC: Navigate to C: > Program Files (x86) > Silhouette America> Silhouette Connect > Silhouette Connect.exe
2. Select the Help menu
3. Select the option to De-activate License Key
4. Enter the email address and password associated with your Silhouette account
5. Click on Submit

If you own a compatible version of Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW, you can download and install Silhouette Connect. 

If you do not have a license key, you will be able to view and adjust settings in the program, but you will not be able to send jobs to your Silhouette machine.

To unlock the ability to send jobs from Silhouette Connect, you will need to purchase a license key.

Check the following if you are unable to run the Silhouette Connect program.

Checking Compatibility

Ensure you have downloaded, installed, and are running the latest version of Silhouette Connect.

After you have done so, make sure you are running a compatible version of Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW.

Checking Version

If you cannot open the Silhouette Connect program to check the version number, you can do the following instead to find the installed version:

Windows

1. Locate the Silhouette Connect application (usually at C:/Program Files (x86)/Silhouette America)
2. Right-click on the Silhouette Connect Application
3. Select the Details Tab
4. The version number will be listed under Product version formatted as 'VX.X.XXX'

Mac

1. Locate the Silhouette Connect application
2. Select the Silhouette Connect Application
3. Press Command + I
4. The version number will be formatted as 'VX.X.XXX'

Troubleshooting

Uninstall and reinstall Silhouette Connect as follows:

1. Close Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW
2. Uninstall the Silhouette Connect Plug-in
3. Restart the computer
4. Open and Close Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw again
5. Close any other Silhouette software program that might be open (i.e. Silhouette Studio)
6. Install Silhouette Connect
7. Open Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW
8. Attempt to access the Silhouette Connect plug-in through your program anew

If continued concerns are encountered and you are running the latest version of Silhouette Connect with a compatible version of Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW:

1. Close the Silhouette Connect program 
2. Close Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW
3. Go to the following location on your computer:
   Windows - C: > Program Data > com.silhouetteamerica.Silhouette_Connect
   Mac - Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > com.silhouetteamerica.Silhouette_Connect
4. Delete the "com.aspexsoftware.Silhouette_Connect" folder and all of its sub-content
5. Re-start the program

Illustrator CC Support for Silhouette Connect

To uninstall Silhouette Connect, follow the steps below for your operating system and host software:

Adobe Illustrator (PC)

1. Close Adobe Illustrator®
2. Press the [Windows]+R on keyboard simultaneously
3. Type Control Panel in Run window
4. Press Enter
5. Select the option for Programs > Programs and Features
6. Select Silhouette Connect
7. Select the option to Uninstall/Change at the top of the list

Adobe Illustrator (Mac)

1. Close Adobe Illustrator®
2. Browse your computer to the Adobe Illustrator folder and
3. Open the "Plug-ins" folder 
4. Right-click the folder for the Silhouette Connect and choose Delete

CorelDRAW (PC)

1. Close CorelDRAW®
2. Press [Windows]+R on the keyboard simultaneously
3. Type control panel in Run window
4. Press Enter
5. Select Programs > Program and Features
6. Select Silhouette Connect
7. Select the option to Uninstall/Change at the top of the list
