Silhouette Go Design Features

Silhouette Go does not currently include design tools to draw your own shapes, text, or other similar advanced features found in Silhouette Studio. We are, however, continuing to work on additional features for Silhouette Go, including design capabilities.

NOTEBeta versions may include new design tools that are being tested.

Current Available Features

Silhouette Go allows you to resize, rotate, ungroup, and duplicate designs. You can also of course select your material and cutting mat size along with your cut settings.

Creating Custom Designs

Silhouette Go does not currently include any other design tools to create images or text from scratch.

For additional design tools, please use the Silhouette Studio desktop program. You can then transfer anything you've created in Silhouette Studio over to the Silhouette Go mobile app by saving the design to your library and making sure it is synced. Once you open your library in Silhouette Go, you will have access to these saved designs.

Using SVG Files in Silhouette Go

SVG files can be accessed through Silhouette Go in one of the following ways:

  • Save the design into the Silhouette Studio library (from a desktop computer) and ensure it is synced
  • Have the SVG file saved on your mobile device
  • Have the SVG file synced to an alternate cloud service that your mobile device can access (i.e. iCloud or Google Drive).

Using SVGs Saved on Mobile Device

Select the 'Device' option found in the Silhouette Go library. This option will attempt to access SVG files that may be saved on your mobile device.

Using SVGs from Cloud Service

You can do the following to sync SVG file content to a cloud service for use with the Silhouette Go application:

Apple devices:

  1. On a desktop computer where your SVG files can be accessed, go to https://www.icloud.com
  2. Sign into your Apple account
  3. Select your iCloud drive
  4. Drag and drop your SVG files into the desired folder

Android devices:

  1. On a desktop computer where your SVG files can be accessed, go to https://drive.google.com/drive
  2. Sign into your Google account
  3. Select your Google drive location
  4. Drag and drop your SVG files into the desired folder

Once your SVG content is saved to an accessible location for your device, go to the 'Device' option in Silhouette Go to access and open your SVG files.

NOTE: These files are outside of the Silhouette library experience and are not controlled by Silhouette Studio or your Silhouette account.
