If the Silhouette Studio program is displaying a black screen instead of the expected view of the software program, this may indicate an issue with the graphics card handling of the application.


Updating OpenGL Settings


To resolve this issue:


  1. Open Silhouette Studio
    NOTE: Ensure you are running the latest software update
  2. Go to the Edit menu
  3. Select Preferences
  4. Select Advanced
  5. Go to OpenGL Configure
  6. Select the first option listed
  7. Click Apply
  8. Exit and re-open Silhouette Studio
  9. If there is no change, repeat steps 1-7 but chose the next available option
