If you encounter a 'Too Many Devices' error message (or 'User Maxed', 'Error 550', or 'Error 551'), this indicates you have exceeded the allotted number of allowable 'Active Devices' for your account.
NOTE: The term 'Device' includes computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones
Library Access Allowance
Your Silhouette library allows the following access:
- Concurrently connected devices: 3 maximum
NOTE: This is how many devices/computers you can have actively connected to your library - Active devices: 10 maximum
NOTE: This is how many devices/computers you can have actively available to potentially connect to your library - Lifetime devices: 50 maximum
NOTE: This is how many devices/computers you can ever have on your account to potentially connect to your library
Resolving the Error
To resolve this error, you will need to deactivate unused/unwanted devices in order to allow your current device to connect.
To do so:
- Go to your Silhouette account management page
- Sign in, if prompted
- Scroll down to the 'Cloud Management' section
- Select Deactivate next to any device that is no longer in use
- Click 'Update' at the bottom of the page
- Enter your account password to confirm the intended action
