Lines in Silhouette Studio may be difficult to see on some computers. Lines can be adjusted for easier viewing.

Adjusting Line Thickness

You can thicken your lines as you create new text or draw new lines. The line thickness setting in this instance is only for on-screen display purposes. It does not impact the actual cut-line performance.

To adjust the line thickness:

  1. Open Silhouette Studio
  2. Adjust the line thickness setting to a higher setting (i.e. 2)
  3. Continue to draw and create text

Adjusting the line thickness setting will impact:
  • Newly drawn objects
  • Newly created text
  • Any selected designs

NOTE: This default setting will not impact designs opened into the software or from the library, since these lines have already been created with specified characteristics, including the line thickness. You can use the above effect on pre-existing designs by selecting the object and then updating the line thickness setting.

Adjusting Default Line Color

You can adjust the default line color between red or black.

To update this setting:

  1. Open Silhouette Studio
  2. Go to Edit > Preferences > Defaults
  3. Select your desired line color (black and red are the only current options)
  4. Click on Apply
  5. Click on OK
