For power failures during cutting with an ES mat


When using the Electrostatic Mat, it is common for it to not completely slide into place on the machine, this results in the mat turning off the power in the middle of cutting. There are lock mechanisms positioned on the left side and right side. Please push the mat firmly into the machine, to lock it into position. Inspect both sides to make sure that the locks are clearly engaged. The buttons should snap up when in the correct position and sit flush with the rest of the ES mat frame, as shown below:

Please make sure that the terminals on the machine and the ES mat are clean and free of any obstructions.

Set up the machine and Electrostatic Mat so that they are level, for example, by placing them on a level desk. When inserting the ES mat into the machine, line up the terminals with the contact points so that a clear line of contact will be established without having to slide the mat back and forth. This should also help with the last point; you will need to line up the edge of the feeding tape, so that it is aligned with the guideline on the machine, as shown below.
