If you encounter an error message indicating that you cannot install Silhouette software because it is "not a certified Microsoft App", you will need to update your Windows settings.

Resolution


To resolve this error:


  1. Turn off Windows' 'S Mode' (as instructed on the official Microsoft website)
  2. Go to the Start menu > Settings > Apps > Apps & Features
  3. Under 'Choose where to get apps', select something other than 'The Microsoft Store only'
    NOTE: If you don’t want to be bothered by this message again, change the setting to 'Anywhere'
  4. Install Silhouette Studio
